Building a future-ready and socially conscious generation requires value-based education. Since 2015, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Mehta Vidyalaya has effectively implemented the Awakened Citizen Program (ACP) for middle school students in Classes VI through VIII, with the goal of empowering them to develop self-esteem and make responsible decisions. The students now have the much-needed ‘Atmashraddha’ to help them overcome life's problems and realize their innate possibilities thanks to the ACP sessions that incorporate conversation, self-discovery and reflection.
For primary classes I to V, our trained teacher facilitators initiated the Awakening Program (AP) for the academic year 2023–24. The AP sessions give young learners the proper guidance so they can freely embrace values and become better adults. The goal of the AP program is to guarantee a child's complete personality development in accordance with the NEP-2020. One of the main tools used in the sessions is storytelling, which allows each kid to freely explore, find, choose, and adopt values. Additionally, students participate in easy, enjoyable activities that they can do at home or at school to help the kids integrate the values they studied.
