SPIC MACAY



SPIC MACAY through its online programmes has been providing a platform to enable the students and youth to indulge in mystical and diverse aspects of Indian art, culture, and heritage, thereby aiding in easing the mental stress, during the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic.

 

SPIC MACAY has been screening an online Rendezvous Series- Cinema Classics with 5 different schools from various parts of India, starting from 14 August, 2020 every Friday till 11 December, 2020. The Cinema Classic session is followed by an involving Question and Answer session, in an effort to let every child experience the intangible legacy of Heritage through the medium of Cinema. Our school students from classes IX to XII took part in the screening of the Cinema Classic ‘Bhuvan Shome’ by renowned director, Mrinal Sen on 4 September, 2020 along with school teachers, Mrs. Ritu Sehgal and Ms. Saumya Nair. The session was thoroughly enjoyed by all participants and teachers. It highlighted not only the importance of films as a reflection of the society but also provided guidance to the students on how to better appreciate the films. Testimonials about the movie written by Anushka Shukla (IX-C) & Mrs. Ritu Sehgal were selected and put up on SPIC MACAY 's official webpage.

Social Awareness and Sensitivity Camp (SAS)



A week long Social Awareness and Sensitivity (SAS) Camp for the students of Class XI was organised from April 8-12, 2020. The camp covered various sessions on career counseling, anger management, stress management, emotional intelligence, improving self con?dence, techniques of self defence, personality development and importance of physical exercises through e-links, study material and Zoom classes. Students as well as parents practised sessions on theatre under the guidance of theatre experts. The camp also saw involvement of students in ‘Creative and Critical Thinking’ assignments and various Skill Development activities. The camp coordinators were Dr. Jyoti Dev Rishi, Mrs. Aradhana Gambhir and Mr. Rakesh Rai.

Hubs of Learning



Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Mehta Vidyalaya conducted various webinars under 'Hubs of Learning'. These webinars were conducted under the supervision and leadership of Dr. (Mrs.) Anju Tandon, Principal, Mehta Vidyalaya. The main objective of conducting these webinars was to exchange the resources and best practices with the hub schools. The webinars were conducted for the teachers and students of the host schools and the hub schools that included Kerala School, Andhra School and Delhi Kannada School.

Saket Court Visit



A visit of Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan'a Mehta Vidyalaya, New Delhi was convened by Social Science Department along with South District Legal Services Authority on 30.01.2020 in which 40 students of class XI of Legal Studies and 02 teachers visited Saket District Court. The visit included observance of Court proceedings- Civil, Criminal and Family Court. Also included visit to Mediation Centre and the office of DLSA (South). The students were briefed by Ms. Poonam A. Bamba, Ld. District & Sessions Judge (South)/Chairperson, DLSA (South) alongwith Ms. Shreya Arora Mehta, Secretary, DLSA (South) as to the Justice Dispensation System and Fundamental Duties followed by questions and answers .

Dewang Mehta Memorial Inter-School IT Symposium 2019



Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Mehta Vidyalaya hosted the Dewang Mehta Memorial Inter-School IT Symposium on 9th August, 2019 in collaboration with NASSCOM. This mega event saw an overwhelming response from 27 schools of Delhi and NCR who participated in as many as 10 events and vied with each other for the coveted Winner’s Trophy. This prestigious event witnessed an outstanding exposition of talent and creativity as young aspirants displayed their ‘Tech Knowledge’ in the various competitions of the event.

Mr. Amit Aggarwal, CEO of IT-ITES Sector Skill Council, NASCCOM recognised as the Chief Architect for the IT – ITES Industry’s Futureskills Program, was the Chief Guest.   

 In a closely contested competition, Ahlcon Public School, Mayur Vihar bagged the Winner’s Trophy with Air Force Bal Bharti School standing as the Runners-up.

11th  Inter School Music Competition on Bhajans dear toGandhiji on 29th  & 30th  August, 2019. This year the annual event added a new chapter as the competition on day two wasorganized at National level for all Bhavan schools in Pan India. The Chief Guests on day one & two were - Smt. ShovanaNarayan, an eminent Kathak dancer and Shri. Rajan & Sajan Mishra, expert Hindustani Classical Vocalists respectively.  A totalof 13 schools from all over Delhi and as many as 17 Bhavan schools from across India participated in the competition. Present onthe occasion were Shri. Rakesh Saxena, Director, Bhavan’s Shikshan Bharati and other dignitaries.

Investiture Ceremony



Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Mehta Vidyalaya conducted the annual Investiture Ceremony for the year 2019-20 on 31st July, 2019. The ceremony began with rendition of school prayer by school choir. Annual Day And Prize Distribution Function



Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Mehta Vidyalaya celebrated its 61st Annual Day on 24thOctober, 2019. The Chief Guest was His Excellency, Shri Nilamber Acharya, theAmbassador of Nepal in India and accompanying him was Shri Hom Prasad Luitel, Education Counselor of Embassy of Nepal. The Chief Guest congratulated the school for its various impressive achievementsand for developing all-round human beings. The School Principal, Dr. (Smt.) AnjuTandon   read   out   the   progressive   Annual   Report   highlighting   the   school’sachievements of the past year and shared with great pride the news about ourschool's 184th All-India ranking.
Meritorious students were awarded prizes by the Chief Guest to acknowledgetheir academic and co-curricular achievements. The occasion saw the release ofthe   annual  school  magazine   ‘Bhavidya’.   The  highlight  of   the   evening  was  thecultural   programme   ‘Mohan   Se   Mahatma’   –a   play   depiceinng   the   journey   ofGandhiji’s life through Rohan, who aspires to a=ain the magnitude of Mahatma.
